The wait is finally over!

January 22nd, 2010

Congratulations to those of you who were notified of your acceptance into TFA yesterday. I know how nerve-wracking the waiting and not knowing can be. Now you just have to decide whether you want to commit to teaching whatever and wherever they’ve assigned you. Good luck deciding!

Praxis test tomorrow

January 8th, 2010

My results on the multiple practice exams I’ve taken are not very encouraging. My weak areas are chemistry and physics. Simply put, there is just too much content to try to learn in such a short amount of time. Oh well, I’ll take this test and continue studying until the results come in. By then I should be prepared enough to pass the darned test.

Here goes nothing!  :(

New Year, new adventures.

January 1st, 2010

2010 brings with it many new opportunities, challenges, uncertainties, and possibilities. It’ll also be a year of adventures, the first of which is preparing to pass the Praxis II-Science content exam. Then, I’ll be working to complete my two senior capstone projects: an honors thesis in psychology and an independent research project in sociology.  In May, my daughter and I graduate exactly two weeks apart, on or the day before our 18th and 40th birthdays. By then, I’ll be knee-deep in a pile of TFA Institute pre-reading while I pack up and prepare for my 5-week stay in Chicago. Geez, all this within only a 6 month time frame!

I hope your 2010 is filled with happiness, joy, and prosperity.
